We have strong links with Slimbridge Wetland Centre
. From its 13 hides, you can spot birds from all over the world including hobby, kingfishers, redshank, herons and flamingoes. The nature reserve is home to brown hares, otters, grass snakes, dragonflies and wild orchids.
Beautiful footpaths surround the Wild Goose Lodge, across fields, through woods, beside canals and rivers, offering ample opportunity for walking in the Slimbridge area. You’ll find cosy country pubs along the way, such as the Berkeley Arms in Purton, and Frampton-on-Severn’s Bell Inn.
Plenty of outdoor pursuits are available in the area, including sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. Nearby Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre
offers horse riding for all ages and abilities.
Historic Berkeley Castle
is open from April to October each year, with its beautiful gardens and tropical butterfly house. A farmers’ market takes place every Saturday in Stroud, where you can discover a wide selection of local produce. The vibrant neighbouring cities of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester, Bath and Bristol, are all within easy reach.
